Working on this - Alice Anne

This is what I'm working on at the moment, following the ideas about writing as marks. I can't resist the thought of putting in some foil, but I promise it will be very tiny!

Hi Alice Anne,
I really like the paper behind the black piece in the front. The sentences flow and begin to take a form that is more important than what the words represent as articles of speech. The drawing with the characters is heavier while the other piece attests to the less is more aesthetic. Now if only I could make that happen in my own work!

Mark makes a good point. There is something about the piece in the background that is a compelling counter to the black/red/metallic piece in the foreground. I look forward to discussing the journey you've been on with this work as text is such a big part of your professional life - did you ever imagine it as a form of drawing / mark making before this body of work?

I enjoy how your text becomes marks on the page and can be read as such. I think the black ground brings this out.
