In preparation for my M.I.S. thesis exhibition I am focusing on a body of work that references the human figure as a nonspecific aggregation. I believe that when people are striped of what makes them unique a common sense of belonging is established and a collective identity is formed. Often it is within this new whole that what was lost becomes found again.
I would like to continue my work in textiles within the context of a mixed media environment. The exposure to different ways of working will serve as an influence and will likely impact my artistic process. I plan to produce two completed textile pieces and a series of working mixed media drawings. This series will consist of studies as well as finished artwork.

This piece keeps jumping out at me so I had to comment....something about the idea of a shadow or soul moving around the human form is intriguing...I am pleased with the simple natural color palette...This seems to enhance the stripped down nature of the form, free of clothing and other embellishments...
transparency (!)... its so relevant for this body of work!
