Chicks in progress
Here is what I have done with my chick tessellations...upon completion of the drawing and painting process I attempted to work with a technique that was inspired by the work of Ray Kass...i spent some time manipulating the paper and have used a waters down weld bond to mount my work on hardi-backer board...I am familiar with using hardi-backer and I like how it can absorb water without becoming flexible...it is also thin, lightweight and easy to cut...I am not finished with the work but am interested to here observations...

if Ray Kass and Andy Warhol laid an egg it could hatch this media experiment!
I love the tessellation! I can't wait to see it up close. From a distance, the texture and swirling line are intriguing. Then, on closer inspection, the variation of expression and leg position is satisfyingly disturbing. Here are the souls of the chickens people eat! It's so interesting learning about these new materials. I had never heard of HardieBacker but it sounds very useful. What kind of paper are you using?
