Casey's Proposal
I intend to continue to work with nostalgic images and objects from my family history, to create a sense of the passage of time. I'm planning 6 pieces, each dealing with a specific place on "Guy Hill": The arbor where my parents were married, the barn, the garden, the oak tree from which four generations have swung. I'm combining photo transfers with drawings and found objects, and I want to experiment more with tooling foil, metal, and washes of metallic paint. After watching that Lesley Dill video, I'm feeling inspired to integrate some of my sister's poetry, too. I'm most comfortable working on paper, so these will most likely be mounted to wood or masonite. I'm still working out the sizes, but biggish. I'm feeling dangerously ambitious, like, could I actually use the door to the old chicken coop? Is that insane?

love the idea of the coop door..alos think that definite edges and a sense of weight will add to the success of your images...retta
Casey, I am wondering if you have anything from your family with text (esp hand written letters) that you could scan and then add to your transfers? That would look really cool peeking through.
