Richard / 3 media experiments

The three that I have picked to show you all my favorites so far.  The first is a chalk pastel on black construction paper.  The second is a watercolor.  The third is white charcoal pencil on black construction paper.  All are 5.5"X8.25".

Richard - these are rich - no pun intended! Black is very seductive, isn't it? The delicate nature of the bottom flower makes me want to look at it again and again.

Richard, you know how I feel about watercolors, I love number 2. I would love to see some abstraction in the flowers with watercolor.

I love the intensity of #1 and #3. Putting them on black gives a great contrast and increases interest. #3 is definitely my favorite though. You always make flowers look more interesting and dynamic than they would seem with a quick glance. I love the movement in all three.

Richard - #3 is Medieval! #1 is scary, and there's #2, frolicking in the midst of them! All are really cool, but I think #3 is my favorite. It looks both powerful, like metal, and delicate at the same time. Hard to do.

Powerful use of negative space especially in the last one posted.
